Activity: The Party*
Procedure:
1. Form two groups in the classroom. One group will be the audience, one group will be at the party.
2. First group comes to the front of the classroom. They choose one person to be the Host. Hosts leave room so they cannot hear.
3. As a class, brainstorm a list of “quirks”.
a. Assign each audience member a participant (party guest). Tell audience that they will choose quirks for that participant.
b. They can choose from those we generated as a class, or from the ones on this handout. They have 1 minute to choose their quirk. Elicit from audience the quirk for each Party Guest.
c. Explain that party guests can only act as the person with the quirk would act. They cannot say what the quirk is.
4. Invite host in. The participants will be the party guests, and the host does not know who the guests are. His task is to guess who the guests might be, based on hints the guests offer. The host must ask questions and engage in discussion in order to find out their "quirk". The games is over as soon as the host has guessed all guests.
