 Drama in the ESL Classroom

What is Readers' Theater?

Readers' Theater asks students to read a story or script (usually with narration) aloud. Students can add some elements of movement, but the action is different from acting out a scene. Students can write the story themselves, or work from an adaption of an existing story. The focus of readers' theater is on the voice and vocal elements, rather than visual elements. A set and props are not needed.
